Wout is a member of the Supervisory Board of SHV Holdings NV, Pon Holdings NV and Hendrix Genetics BV, and of the Paine Schwartz Partners Food Chain Advisory Board.

Wout served as Chair of the Supervisory Board of Ranstad NV, which is one of the world’s largest HR providers. He also served as Chair of the Supervisory Board of Rabobank, one of Europe’s largest co-operatives, and is the former Chair of the Executive Board and CEO of Nutreco NV, a Dutch producer of animal nutrition, fish feed and processed-meat products. He was also previously a member of the Supervisory Board of Royal Friesland Campina NV.

Wout was Chair of the Supervisory Board of the Princess Maxima Centre for Child Oncology until 2018. He now currently serves as a Board member of the Women on Wings Foundation, which aims to create one million jobs for women in rural India.
