Thomas is currently Chair of VKR Holding AS, Lloyd’s Register Group, and Lloyd’s Register Foundation, one of the UK’s largest charities. He is also an Independent Director at BW Group Ltd, a Non-Executive Director at Lambert Energy Advisory Ltd and an Independent Non-Executive Director at IMI plc, where he focuses on employee engagement and ESG matters. Additionally, he is an Independent Board member of Cadeler AS.

Previously, Thomas was the Independent Chair of Ørsted AS and served on the boards of SSE plc, Petrofac Ltd, BW Offshore Ltd, and DeepOcean Group Holding AS. He was also an Independent Board member of Green Hydrogen Systems AS. In his executive career, he was a CEO and Partner at A.P Moller-Maersk AS.

Thomas has focused on business transformation, sustainability, and the global energy transition towards a carbon-free future. His extensive board experience has provided him with deep insights into various ownership structures and governance models.

Thomas is a member of the Friends of Ocean Action Community/UNGC and a Commissioner of the Energy Transitions Commission. Additionally, he is part of the Danish Committee for Good Corporate Governance.

In recognition of his contributions, Thomas was awarded the Danish Knight’s Cross in 2018.
