Prior to these appointments, Sigve served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Telenor Group from 2015 to 2024, leading one of the world’s major telecommunications operators with operations across the Nordics and Asia, 207 million subscribers and annual revenues of approximately NOK 80bn. During his tenure, Telenor underwent significant structural and organisational transformation, including major divestments, a sharpened geographical focus and the launch of an ambitious ESG strategy. He drove operational excellence, delivering efficiency programmes that reduced operating expenditure, and repositioned the company for growth through the creation of four distinct business areas. Under his leadership, Telenor achieved one of the highest total shareholder returns in the industry.,

Prior to becoming Group CEO, Sigve served as Head of Region, Asia for Telenor, overseeing operations across India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Myanmar, Thailand and Malaysia. He played a pivotal role in Telenor’s entry into the Myanmar market and was responsible for regional governance, strategy and operations, holding significant board and chair responsibilities. Earlier leadership roles included Managing Director at Telenor Asia in Singapore, Managing Director at Unitech Wireless (Uninor) in India and CEO and Co-CEO of Total Access Communication (dtac) in Thailand. His early career included roles in business development at Telenor and service as State Secretary at the Norwegian Ministry of Defence.

Sigve has held numerous board and chair roles, including Board Member and Policy Group Chair at the GSMA, Chair of Telenor Norway, Grameenphone (Bangladesh), Digi.com Berhad (Malaysia), Unitech Wireless (India) and Telenor Pakistan; and Vice Chair of Total Access Communication (dtac) in Thailand.

He brings deep cross-sector expertise in:

• Telecommunications leadership and large-scale transformation – Leading complex organisational modernisation, digital transformation and operational efficiency across global and regional operators.

• Business strategy and market development – Deep experience in regional governance, market entry and value creation across high-growth Asian markets and advanced Nordics markets.

• Board governance and industry policy – Extensive board and chair experience across major publicly listed telecom operators, with strong engagement in industry policy and regulation.

• ESG, digital innovation and responsible AI – Proven leadership in advancing ESG agendas, driving digital innovation and supporting responsible AI adoption at scale.

Sigve holds a master’s degree in public administration from the John F. Kennedy School of Government, Harvard University, and is fluent in Norwegian and English.
