Today, Peter is Chair of the Supervisory Board of Telefónica Deutschland and is Lead Independent Director at Telefónica S.A. He is an Independent Director at Caixabank SA, Philips NV, TBG Limited, and Thyssen-Bornemisza Group . He also has advisory roles at Salesforce (EMEA Advisory Board), Bain Capital Private Equity, Neural Propulsion Systems Inc, and Doha Ventures. He is the Founding Partner of Medical Technology Venture Partners.

Previously, he was Chair of Sulzer AG and OMV AG, an Independent Director at Deutsche Bank AG, Munich Re, and Nokia Solutions and Networks BV.

In his executive career prior to leading Siemens, Peter was CEO of Renova Management AG, President of Global Human Health and a member of the Executive Board of Merck & Co. Inc., CEO of GE Healthcare Bio-Sciences and member of GE’s Corporate Executive Council, and COO and member of the Board of Amersham plc. He has also held senior-leadership positions in Aventis and Hoechst.
