Overview

Fulvio Conti was CEO and General Manager of Enel SpA, where he guided Italy’s largest energy utility through a decisive shift in strategy and scale. During his tenure, Enel refocused on its core energy business, expanded significantly into international markets across Latin America and Eastern Europe, and executed landmark acquisitions including Slovenské Elektrárne and Endesa. He also positioned the company as a pioneer in renewable energy and energy efficiency, laying the groundwork for its long-term sustainability agenda.

Fulvio is Chair of FIEE SGR SpA, Chair of SGI SpA and Innova Italy Partners srl. He is a Board member of ASPI SpA and Take Off SpA. He is an Independent Director at Autostrade per l’Italia SpA, RBC PJSC and, Fondo Italiano per l’Efficienza Energetica SGR SpA. He was Chair of Fine Foods & Pharmaceuticals NTM SpA and Telecom Ital SpA (TIM), and was an Independent Director at AON plc, RCS Mediagroup SpA, Wind Telecom SpA, and Barclays Bank plc. From 2011 to 2013 he served as President of the Union of the Electrical Industry (EURELECTRIC).

Before becoming Enel’s CEO, Fulvio served as Chief Financial Officer, overseeing its financial operations during the pivotal years of privatisation and early global expansion. Prior to joining Enel, Fulvio held senior finance and executive roles at Mobil Oil Europe, Montedison, Ferrovie dello Stato, and Telecom Italia—building a foundation in complex industrial and public-utility environments.

He brings deep cross-sector expertise in:

• Global energy transformation – overseeing multi-territory power operations, renewable strategy, and energy efficiency

• Board governance & investment leadership – Chairing energy and infrastructure investment vehicles and utilities boards

• Financial strategy & privatisation – leading financial structuring, M&A, and public-to-private corporate transitions

A graduate in Economics from Sapienza University of Rome, Fulvio applies strategic discipline with a deep understanding of industrial finance, policy nuance, and institutional transition.
