David Jiménez-Blanco has over 15 years of international senior-leadership experience combined with a multi-industry knowledge in engineering, finance, industrials, real estate, renewable energy and retail. These roles have made him an experienced Chair and CFO of public and private companies.

 

David is Chair of the Madrid Stock Exchange and Gawa Capital Partners SGEIC, SA. He is also Vice Chair of Bolsas y Mercados Españoles, as well as an Independent Board member of SIX Group AG (the owner and operator of the Swiss and Spanish Stock Exchanges), Arima Real Estate SOCIMI SA, and a member of the Board of Trustees at the Pablo Horstmann Foundation. He is also a member of the Advisory Board of CUNEF Universidad, a leading university in Madrid.

 

David served as Chair and CEO at Merrill Lynch Capital Markets España, SA, SV, and was Head of Global Markets and Investment Banking for Spain and Portugal. Prior to Merrill Lynch, David held various positions in London and Madrid at Goldman Sachs International.

 

David is passionate about sustainable long-term development. In addition to being a founder of impact investment firm Gawa Capital Partners, he served as Chief Restructuring and Strategy Officer at Abengoa, a global company involved in renewable energy, water and sustainable infrastructure.

 

Previously, David was Group CFO of World Duty Free SpA, where he led its listing on the Milan Stock Exchange in October 2013. Prior to that, David co-founded BK Partners, an alternative investment-management firm, focused on direct investments in real estate and renewable energy in Mexico.

 

David’s previous Board experience includes Independent Board member at Axiare Patrimonio, SOCIMI, SA and Atento Inversiones y Teleservicios (a Telefonica group company) and he was a member of the Board of Governors of the American Chamber of Commerce in Spain.
